Seeing Messi angry is a sight that is not commonly seen in football. However, in the match against the Netherlands, he first got angry with the referee for showing a slew of red cards to players, including him.

As per stats available online, referee Antonio Mateu showed a total of 11 yellow cards to players of both teams.

When their win was secured, Messi ran over to the touchline to have a spat with the Dutch coach Louis Van Gaal. Messi reportedly told the 71-year-old that he talks too much. They were separated by the Dutch coaching staff as well as the other Argentina players.

Messi and co will now face Croatia in the semi-final of the FIFA World Cup 2022. If they can win it, it will be Messi’s second FIFA World Cup final and an excellent opportunity to make the dream of winning football’s biggest trophy come true.
