Andre Russell went round the wicket and bowled a well-directed wide yorker. Pandya, who was deep in the crease, brought his bat down but hit the stumps with his bat. While, Pandya walked off with a smile on his face, it took a bit of time for Russell to understand what transpired.

MI, put into bat first, put up a competitive total of 195/5 at the end of 20 overs. Quinton de Kock, who looked fine against Chennai Super Kings, failed to fire and departed for one.

Following his dismissal, Suryakumar Yadav (47 off 28) and Rohit Sharma (80 of 54) blasted the ball all around the park. Both batsmen had set the stage for their team to post a big total.

However, a couple of wickets in the middle overs, halted the flow of runs for MI.

For KKR, Shivam Mavi was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with figures of 2/32 from his stipulated four overs. Pat Cummins was the most expensive, giving 49 runs in 3 overs.
