The
Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mumbai
Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) left for the United Arab Emirates
on Friday afternoon. The cash-rich tournament, which was shifted out of India
due to the coronavirus pandemic, will be played at the UAE, starting September
19. The CSK Twitter handle uploaded pictures of the players – MS Dhoni, Suresh
Raina, Ravindra Jadeja – leaving for the tournament.

Coach
Laxmipathy Balaji was also seen wearing the iconic yellow jersey.

“The Royal
Challengers are all set to take-off!” tweeted the official handle of the Bangalore-based
franchise.

Although, captain
Virat Kohli could not be ascertained in the picture.

The handle
of Mumbai Indians uploaded a picture of captain Rohit Sharma with his family.
Both Sharma and his wife can be seen wearing a PPE kit, while daughter Samaira, sitting on the trolley, is all set to attend her second IPL.

Other teams like
Kings XI Punjab, Rajasthan Royals and two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders
have already reached the UAE on Thursday.

The
tournament will see Mumbai Indians aiming to clinch a record-breaking fifth
title, while Chennai Super Kings will look to draw level with MI, in terms of the number of titles.

MI have four
trophies under their belt, while CSK have three.

KKR, on the other
hand, will look to win their third title, and the Virat Kohli-led team will try to
win the coveted trophy for the first time.
