It was Thanksgiving Day in 2022 and the NFL celebrated it by organizing three thrilling matches for the fans to watch.
The league has organized NFL matches on the day ever since the league’s inception in 1920. The Detroit Lions have traditionally hosted one Thanksgiving Day game since 1934, and the Dallas Cowboys have hosted one since 1966.
This year as well the Lions faced off against the Buffalo Bills in the first match of the day, followed by the Cowboys welcoming the New England Patriots and the third and final match between the Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots.

Let’s look at the highlights from Thanksgiving Day, 2022:
1) Detroit Lions vs Buffalo Bills:
The Lions almost handed the Bills their fourth loss of the season. It was an evenly contested game all throughout the game but the Bills prevailed courtesy of two passing and a rushing TD from QB Josh Allen. Wide Receivers Isaiah Mckenzie and Stephon Diggs were the recipients of the Td passes and both players finished with over 70 receiving yards for the game. For the Lions, it was a great performance from wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown who caught the ball for 122 yards for a touchdown and QB Jared Goff also passed for two endzone plays.
Final Score: 28-25
Winner: Buffalo Bills
2) Dallas Cowboys vs New England Giants:
It was a rematch from Week 3 and the Giants were hoping to get revenge on their opponents. QB Dak Prescott did not have a good game but the Cowboys still prevailed for a win. He threw two interceptions and two TDs. But it was the running play from Ezekiel Elliot that took away the win from the high-flying Giants, who are having a very good season of their own.
