The New York Giants hosted the Dallas Cowboys in Monday night football in Week 3 of the 2022 NFL season. A tightly contested game, the first touchdown was scored by the hosts in the third quarter, when running back Saquon Barkley made a 36-yard sprint to help the Giants finish in the endzone.

However, the Cowboys put one back right after, when running back Ezekiel Elliott scored his side’s first touchdown of the game against the Giants at the MetLife Stadium. The 27-year-old scored a 2-yard touchdown to help the Cowboy equalize at 13-13.

The 2-yard touchdown came in the third quarter, on the next drive after Giants’ running back Barkley scored the first touchdown of the game. Wide receiver Noah Brown made several receptions to gain to the 1-yard line and Elliott scored the touchdown moments after.

Elliott is a former Ohio State graduate, who was the fourth overall pick by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2016 NFL draft. He registered 15 carries for 73 yards, 1 rushing touchdown and 1 reception for 2 yards against the Giants on Monday.

He has registered 1,675 carries for 7,491 yards, 56 rushing touchdowns and 290 receptions for 2,237 yards along with 12 receiving touchdowns in his career. Since the 2022 NFL season began, Elliott has been highly impressive for the Cowboys, registering 25 carries for 105 yards, 2 receptions for -2 yards and 1 touchdown.

His touchdown was followed by a one-handed reception by wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who scored another touchdown in the game, helping the Cowboys to take the lead. The Dallas Cowboys beat the New York Giants 16-23 on Monday, extending their winning streak to two games.

The Cowboys were beaten by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1, however, came back to winning ways in the subsequent week, when they beat the Cincinnati Bengals.
