The fourth week of the 2022 NFL Season is under the books. This week had some pretty close games, a couple of upsets and a blow-out victory for the Dallas Cowboys team.

The week started with a Thursday Night Football clash between Cincinnati Bengals and Miami Dolphins, which the Bengals ended up winning 27-15. The game also had a very scary moment for the whole league as Dolphins QB Tua Tagavailoa was stretchered off in the second quarter after a head injury during a sack by Bengals’ Josh Tupou. He was then placed on concussion protocols.

Apart from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs Game, there was no other match where both the teams scored above 30 points, a rarity in the league, explaining this week defense for every team, kicked in properly.

Let’s have a look at the top-10 defenses of the week: –

1) San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers dominated the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night as they held the reigning Super Bowl Champs to just nine points, fewest in Week 4. Overall, the team recorded seven sacks, one interception, a fumble recovered and a defensive touchdown courtesy of safety Talanoa Hufanga.

2) New York Giants

The Giants bounced back from their heart-crushing defeat to Dallas Cowboys last week to thrash Chicago Bears, 20-12. In the game, the team had six sacks and three fumble recovered along with allowing the third-fewest points over the week.

3) Philadelphia Eagles

Eagles cruised past the Jacksonville Jaguars 29-21 to remain the only undefeated team this season. They now have a perfect 4-0 record. Against the Jaguars, the team allowed just 46 plays for the entire game and had four sacks, four fumbles recovered along with an interception.

The Jets restricted to the Pittsburgh Steelers to 20 points and are a surprise mention so high in the list. The team ended their Sunday night with three but four interceptions, the most achieved by any team during the course of the week.

6) New England Patriots

The Patriots have always been a historically great defensive side under head coach Bill Belichick. Even though the team lost their backup Qb had to play their third-string quarterback in Bailey Zaape, and took the Aaron Rodgers-led offense to overtime, losing ultimately. During the game, they had one sack, a fumble recovered, and an interception but their defense also scored a TD.
