Week 8 of the 2022 NFL season witnessed many great plays and splendid performances from some of the league’s best players.

The week started with Thursday Night Football clash between Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the high-flying Baltimore Ravens at Raymond James Stadium. The visitors beat their opponents 27-22, making it a third straight game without a victory for the NFC South team.

The Ravens, on the other hand, won their second consecutive game for the first time this season and move onto the first spot in the AFC North division with five wins and three losses to their name.

There were also some notable running back performances in the week. New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara was one of the standout running backs in the week.

Let’s look at the top running back performances from this week:

1) Alvin Kamara (New Orleans Saints)

The 27-year player registered two receiving TDs and one rushing TD against the Las Vegas Raiders as the team went on to claim a 24-0 victory. Kamara finished the game with 18 carries for 62 while making nine receptions for 96 yards.

2) Christian McCaffrey (San Francisco 49ers)

McCaffrey achieved a rare feat that happened in the NFL for the first time since 2005. The RB passed, received and rushed for a touchdown in the game vs Los Angeles Rams that ended with the 49ers’ 31-14 victory. He ended the game with 18 carries for 94 yards, eight receptions for 55 yards and one of one in successful passes thrown.

3) Derrick Henry (Tennessee Titans)

The 2020 NFL Offensive Player of the Year, Henry contributed with two rushing touchdowns for his team in a one-sided affair vs the Houston Texans. He ended the game with 28 carries for 213 yards, the most by any running back in this week.

4) Tony Pollard (Dallas Cowboys) 

The Cowboys RB scored three rushing touchdowns as his team cruised past the Chicago Bears in the highest-scoring game of the Week where the final score read 49-29. Pollard ended his best game of the season so far by carrying the ball 14 times for 131 yards. 

5) D’Onta Foreman (Carolina Panthers) 

The Panthers lost against the Atlanta Falcons in overtime in an evenly contested game with the final score reading 37-34 for the hosts, the Falcons. Foreman was the other running back who had three rushing touchdowns in the week, besides Tony Pollard of the Cowboys. He rushed for 118 yards in 26 carries for his first three TDs of the season.
