A late comeback from Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers went in vain as Los Angeles Rams rose to victory 30-27 in Sunday’s NFL playoffs game.
Highlights of the game:
1) Cooper Kupp, left wide open, scores 70-yard touchdown:
In the first quarter, Cooper Kupp scored a 70-yard touchdown. It was in the first quarter when Kupp was left wide open down the right and Rams QB Matthew Stafford chucked the ball deep at him. The 28-year-old beat the Bucs defense to the end zone to put the Rams up 17-3.
2) Tom Brady called for an unsportsmanlike conduct:
Brady was called for an unsportsmanlike conduct, the first of his career, after the three-time NFL MVP vented his frustration at the referee for a lack of flag after being hit by Rams pass rusher Von Miller. Brady got a busted lip after he was hit by Miller’s helmet and was distraught at the move not being penalised.
3) Nick Scott makes great play to pick off Tom Brady:
After dominating in the first two quarters, Nick Scott played an interception just before halftime, coming across from the middle of the field and cutting in front of the receiver for the interception on Brady.
4) Bucs make comeback:
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, led by Tom Brady’s efforts, made a fine comeback to reach 24-24 with a minute remaining after they were 24-3 at half-time.
5) Will Brady retire?
As per reports, Tom Brady is contemplating whether he wants to come back for the 2022 NFL season.
“We knew it wasn’t going to be easy,” Stafford said. “I mean, we sure let ’em back in the game with a bunch of mistakes on offense. Our defense played outstanding. We’ve got to clean some stuff up, do a little better job in the turnover department.
“This is a tough team, man, this is what we’re all about. Just happy to get a win and keep on moving.”
