India are looking to seal the ongoing three-match series against the West Indies with a win in the second ODI at
Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on Wednesday. The Men in Blue lead the series
after defeating the Caribbean side by six wickets in the opening clash on
Sunday.

After being invited to bat, India managed
to score 237 runs for the loss of nine wickets, with Suryakumar Yadav top-scoring
with an 83-ball 64. His 91-run partnership for the fourth wicket with KL Rahul
stabilised the innings after the Windies struck early blows with three wickets
at the top of the order.

With the matches being held behind closed doors
due to the COVID-19 pandemic, team India were deprived of the usual vociferous support
they get from the crowd not just at home but all around the world. However,
there were a few enthusiastic supports for the Men in Blue in the crowd.

The U-19 World Cup-winning Indian side attended
the Narendra Modi stadium to lend their support to their seniors. “Our
#U19CWC-winning team in attendance here in Ahmedabad #BoysInBlue,” the Board of
Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) tweeted, along with a picture of the U-19
team in the stands.

Led by Yash Dhull, India beat England by
four wickets in the final on Sunday to lift a record-extending fifth U-19 World
Cup title. Raj Angad Bawa was named Player of the Match in the final for his
five-wicket haul that crippled England’s batting order and restricted them to 189 all out. Bawa also scored 35 runs to help complete the chase.

Nishant Sindhu’s unbeaten fifty, along with Shaikh Rasheed’s half-century helped stabilise the innings, while wicketkeeper Dinesh Bana scored a six to take India home.

Meanwhile, India lost three early wickets,
with skipper Rohit Sharma (5), Rishabh Pant (18) and Virat Kohli (18) failing
to provide the hosts with a brisk start.
