Dragon Lee, a masked professional wrestler signed a deal with WWE earlier this month. After a tag team match partnered with his brother Dralistico against FTR for AAA’s tag titles, he finished Mexico’s Lucha Libre AAA promotion. 

Lee announced at the event about his landing in WWE. He informed about the plan to start the promotion with WWE in January under the developmental brand NXT, reported ESPN.

Who is Dragon Lee?

Dragon Lee was born on May 15, 1995, in Tala, Jalisco, Mexico. His father, Arturo Muñoz was also a professional wrestler. His two brothers also grew up to be wrestlers. The eldest brother, William debuted in 2008 and is known as “Rush.” His second brother is Carlos who now wrestles under the ring name Místico. 

His uncles who are also professional wrestlers, Franco Columbo, Pit Bull I, and Pit Bull II trained him prior to his debut. At 14, he was taken to Mexico City for training.

The Mexican luchador enmascarado (masked professional wrestler) was previously signed with Ring of Honor (ROH) from 2016-21. He worked for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) from 2013-19. The 27-year-old wrestler has also been a champion in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and AAA.

Dragon Lee married Lupita Orozco in December 2019 and the wedding was officiated by Mexican catholic priest Fray Tormenta.

Lee announced on December 28, 2022, about his heading to WWE. Lee said being in WWE was always a “dream” and he wanted to follow in the footsteps of legends whom he grew up watching, like Michaels, Batista and, Rey Mysterio Jr. “I think I can become the new Rey Mysterio in WWE. I just need the opportunity,” said Lee. He will reportedly move with his family to Orlando in the near future for the opportunity with WWE.
