Who is Karim Kamoun, Ons Jabeur’s husband?

Jabeur’s husband Karim Kamoun has been a recurrent feature in her player’s box at every event this year, including the championship.

After a few years of dating the World No. 2, Kamoun, a Russian-Tunisian fencer who has competed for Tunisia in numerous international tournaments, married Jabeur in 2015.

He switched to being the 27-year-physical old tennis star’s trainer in 2017 after earning a master’s degree in sports science, and he has since routinely joined her on tour.

Thanks to her recent accomplishments, Jabeur, and her husband have gained enormous popularity in their home country, a scenario the World No. 2 is more than content to be in.

“When I go back to Tunisia, people are very happy to see me. Even when they’re driving, people sometimes clap and cheer for me. My husband, Karim, jokes he doesn’t want to go to the shopping mall with me anymore because it gets too busy with people coming up to me. But I love it,” Jabeur wrote in a BBC column. “It is great connecting with people, it is part of my journey. I love seeing them and seeing their support. That’s one of the reasons why I started playing tennis.”
