Who is Rhamondre Stevenson?

  Rhamondre Stevenson is an American football running back who currently plays for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He was selected in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.  

Rhamondre Stevenson was born on February 23, 1998 in San Pablo city of California and attended Centennial High School. As a junior at the school, he was voted the High School Player of the Year.

College Career: –

He played for a community college by the name of Cerritos College for two years, post which he transferred to play for the University of Oklahoma’s Sooners Football Team. In his first season at Oklahoma, he appeared in the first 13 games before being suspended for the 2019 Peach Bowl due to a failed marijuana drug test.  He finished the season with 515 yards and six touchdowns on 64 carries.

Stevenson was reinstated six games into the 2020 season after serving his suspension. He was named Cotton Bowl MVP in 2020 after rushing for 186 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. He declared for the NFL Draft in 2021.

NFL Career: –

The New England Patriots selected Stevenson with the 120th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. On May 19, 2021, he signed a four-year rookie contract with New England. Stevenson had a breakout game against the Carolina Panthers in week 9 with 106 all-purpose yards and a 41-yard reception.

Later, in Week 11 against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday Night Football, Stevenson led the team in rushing once again, splitting carries with starter Damien Harris and finishing with 69 yards on 12 carries in the 25-0 victory. He also played in the NFL Wild Card Round game against the Buffalo Bills, in which the team lost 47-17.

Overall, he finished the season by playing in 12 games (2 started) and recording 133 passing attempts for 606 yards and 5 TDs.
