Will Fuller is a free agent and hasn’t played a single game in the 2022 NFL preseason. He spent five seasons at the Houston Texans and the last one at Miami Dolphins, when signed a one year contract with them on March 20, 2021. He sustained a season ending injury and on October 6, 2021, he was put on injured reserve. The Dolphins did not extend his contract and is one of the top wide receivers still up for contention.

Who is Will Fuller?
Will Fuller is an American football wide receiver who is currently a free agent the National Football League (NFL). Born on April 16, 1994, he played college football at Notre Dame and was drafted by the Houston Texans in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Fuller declared on January 3, 2016, that he would forgo his senior year and instead declare for the 2016 NFL Draft. He had a total of 30 touchdowns and 2,512 yards (17.4 average) in 144 receptions for Notre Dame. Fuller ran the 40-yard sprint with an official time of 4.32 seconds at the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine, which was the fastest time among wide receivers. The Houston Texans selected Fuller with the 21st overall pick in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. The 2016 NFL Draft’s second wide receiver pick was him.

On September 11, 2016, Fuller played in his debut NFL game, which the Houston Texans won 23-14. Fuller had five receptions for 107 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets from quarterback Brock Osweiler.
Fuller beat the Tennessee Titans by returning a punt 67 yards for a score. He did this to become the first player in the history of the team to score on both a punt return and a reception in the same game (as he had a touchdown reception earlier in the game). The Texans triumphed 27-20. In 14 games and 13 starts during his first season, Fuller had 47 receptions for 635 yards, 196 return yards, two receiving scores, and a return touchdown.

Fuller injured his collarbone on August 2, 2017, during training camp, and doctors predicted he would be out for two to three months. Fuller was promoted to full participation in the Texans’ practice on September 27, 2017. In Week 4’s 57-14 victory over the Tennessee Titans, he made his season debut for the Texans by rushing for four yards and catching four catches for 35 yards and two touchdowns. In 10 games, Fuller has 28 receptions for 423 yards, 135 return yards, and 7 receiving touchdowns to cap off the 2017 campaign (all starts).
Due to a hamstring injury, Fuller was unable to play in the 2018 season opener against the New England Patriots, which the Texans defeated 27-20. As the second receiver on the Texans’ depth chart, he made his season debut in Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans. In the 20-17 away defeat, he recorded eight receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown. Fuller tore his ACL in Week 8’s 42-23 home victory over the Miami Dolphins, ending his season early. He concluded the season with 32 receptions for 503 yards and four touchdowns in seven games and starts.

On April 26, 2019, the Texans exercised Fuller’s fifth-year option. In time for the Texans’ away season opener against the New Orleans Saints, Fuller made a full recovery from his injury. In the 30-28 defeat, he had two receptions for 69 yards. Fuller’s 217 receiving yards in a 53-32 victory over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5 marked the first time in his NFL career that he had 200+ yards in a game. In 11 games, including 11 starts, Fuller concluded the 2019 season with 49 receptions for 670 yards and three touchdowns.
When Fuller’s colleague DeAndre Hopkins was moved to the Arizona Cardinals in the 2020 offseason, Fuller became the Texans’ top wide receiver. Fuller made eight receptions for 112 yards in Week 1’s 34-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fuller received a six-game suspension on November 30 for breaking the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs. He missed the opening game of the NFL’s 2021 season as well as the final five games of the 2020 campaign. Fuller had a career-high 53 receptions for 879 yards and eight touchdowns in his final 11 games of the season. Fuller agreed to a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins on March 20, 2021. He broke his thumb in Week 4, and on October 6, 2021, he was put on injured reserve. As his contract with the Dolphins was just for a year, and they did not re-sign him, he is a free agent as of now.
