Instant messaging application WhatsApp announced a new feature that will let users shop for goods and services on the company’s business app.

WhatsApp, a Facebook-owned company said, “ This will make it simpler for businesses to keep track of order enquiries, manage request from customer and close sales.”

WhatsApp added, “carts are perfect when shopping from a business where you’d buy multiple items.”

The cart feature, which is available on the business app is similar to the ‘add to cart feature that is available on all the e-commerce platform. In the year 2020, WhatsApp has also introduced a shopping button on the business profile that allowed users to use catalogues offered by them.

Whatsapp claims that through this option users can browse more than 8 million business catalogue. It is available to all and the feature of hide unavailable item is also added on the business app.

Below is the step by step process on how you can use the cart option:

Step 1- open chat or a business profile you would like to order from.

Step 2- Click on the shopping button icon to access their catalogue.

Step 3- click on the product you want to check

Step 4- select add to cart option

Once you have selected all the items and added them and the cart is complete, users can send it to the seller as a WhatsApp message, said WhatsApp.

It further added that “Once sent you will be able to see the details of your order by tapping on the VIEW CART button in your chat window with the seller.”
