Tomasz Patan, the co-founder of Swedish company Jetson, took off from his Italian home in a vehicle and touched down some 4.8 kilometers away.

What made the commute remarkable was the vehicle, which was a flying car by Jetson that successfully completed its “first ever” travel.

According to a report by Newsweek, the company said that the time of commute dropped by 88%.

Jetson said that the journey from Patan’s home to a company building in Santa Maria a Monte is a “momentous occasion for the electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) sector.”

“On May 21, after months of rigorous testing, the Jetson team completed the first-ever eVTOL commute. The team waited in anticipation for the Jetson ONE arrival at the Santa Maria a Monte facility in Tuscany,” said San Sunner, the communications head of the company.
