Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man 2 received a 10-minute gameplay demo, the first extended look at the sequel, and a close-up look at one of its villains, Kraven the Hunter, in one of the most exciting announcements of today’s PlayStation Showcase.

The PlayStation 5 Showcase in 2021 gave fans their last glimpse at Spider-Man 2 in its original reveal trailer. Peter Parker and Miles Morales will battle Venom, one of Spider-Man’s most infamous foes, in New York City in the game.

The player can switch between Peter and Miles while they play, and we see Peter Parker using the Symbiote Suit in battle. Miles’ section involved a lot of stealth gameplay as he sneaked through a hostile warehouse. After meeting Peter, Miles remarks on the Symbiote Suit before the two join forces for a chase scene.

Kraven the Hunter is starting his Great Hunt for an Equal alongside the growing threats of the Symbiote, according to a PS Blog post, which confirms that we did in fact see him at the beginning. In the gameplay we witnessed, Kraven’s Hunters were pursuing The Lizard while Peter and Miles were attempting to stop them as they flew over Queens’ East River, one of the game’s many new boroughs.

Although a release date hasn’t been set, it was previously given a Fall 2023 window, and Venom voice actor Tony Todd predicted that it would probably be released in September in a since-deleted tweet. Given his appearance in the game, it is noteworthy that the upcoming Kraven the Hunter movie will be released soon.

Nadji Jeter, who plays Miles Morales, recently revealed information about the Insomniac sequel and appeared to hint at a co-op mode. However, Insomniac quickly disproved that, tweeting that the game is a “epic single-player adventure” similar to the previous two games in the series, Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
