President Joe Biden tripped and fell at a graduation ceremony at the US Air Force Academy on Thursday, sparking a social media argument that he should be removed per the 25th Amendment.
Biden was handing out a diploma when he tripped. The 80-year-old was helped by three people as he got up on one knee. He was then taken to his seat.
Several social media users said that Biden should be removed from office.
“The man is physically and mentally unable to perform his duties. The 25th Amendment was created for Joe Biden,” a social media users said.
“Time to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove Joe Biden from office he is unfit,” a second one added.

“Invoke the 25th Amendment on Sleepy Joe Biden. He is dazed and confused during every public speaking event, and can no longer even walk on flat ground without taking a spill,” a third one tweeted.
The 25th Amendment was proposed by Congress and ratified by the states in the aftermath of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. It provides the procedures for replacing the president or vice president in the event of death, removal, resignation, or incapacitation. Biden, at 80 years old, is the oldest US President.

After Biden’s fall on Thursday, the President pointed at something on the ground. He was trying to indicate that something had gotten in his path. Videos showed sandbags placed in front of the podium near where he had been standing.
“He’s fine. There was a sandbag on stage while he was shaking hands,” communications director Ben LaBolt wrote on Twitter.
