The movement of Carlee Russell’s car during the 911 call reporting a toddler on the interstate, according to a former homicide detective, is inexplicable.

According to the Hoover Police Department, Russell, 25, went missing on July 13 after contacting 911 to report a youngster who was reportedly walking on the side of Interstate 459 South close to Birmingham, Alabama, about 9:24 p.m.

Russell made a call to a relative after dialing 911; however, the line “remain[ed] open,” according to authorities. On July 15, she arrived home at 10:45 p.m. After being brought to a hospital, she was later released.

Hoover Police Capt. Keith Czeskleba stated during a news conference on Wednesday that Russell covered “six football fields” (or 600 yards) during her 911 call in which she claimed to be pursuing a 3 to 4-year-old child who was walking alongside the motorway in a diaper.

Officials used Russell’s smartphone’s Life 360 app to gather the data.

Russell had left the site by the time police arrived, but the running automobile still contained a number of personal items.

“That child would have had to have been an Olympic runner to have run six football fields,” former Washington, D.C., Homicide Detective Ted Williams told Fox News Digital. “That doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.”

He added that Russell will likely be charged with a crime after the disappearance.

“The possibilities are high that she will be charged with some kind of a criminal offense. If nothing else, other than making a false report to law enforcement,” Williams said. “You must think about the amount of money that was used or to investigate this matter. And remember, the investigation is still ongoing. And so you’re talking about using a lot of resources to investigate something that appears as of now to be a hoax.”

Czeskleba claimed that Russell conducted a number of “highly unusual” web searches before she vanished.

Russell, according to him, looked up “do you have to pay for an Amber Alert” on July 11 at 7:30 am. Russell looked up “how to take money from a register without being caught” around 1:03 a.m. on July 13.

On July 13 at 12:10 PM, Russell also looked up the movie “Taken,” according to him. According to IMDB, the movie “Taken” is about a retired CIA agent who journeys across Europe to save his daughter who was abducted while on a trip to Paris.

According to Czeskleba, it is “highly unusual” for a kidnapper to have looked up the movie “Taken” just hours earlier.

She looked for a one-way bus ticket from Birmingham to Nashville, Tennessee, with a departure time of July 13 at 2:35 a.m.

Additionally, Russell also allegedly looked up the “maximum age of an Amber Alert” on a work computer.
