’s dogs Major and Champ will be promoting COVID-19 pandemic measures in an upcoming commercial about masks during Puppy Bowl XVII.
The ad will also feature the first lady Dr. Jill Biden, reports The Independent.

For
those who are unversed, Puppy Bowl is an annual television program that airs on Animal
Planet and is a rendition of American football game Super Bowl for dogs.

The Puppy Bowl commercial will mark the acting debut of first dogs, Major and Champ, who arrived the White House later in January.

According to media reports, the public service announcement will air on Sunday which is he game day for Super bowl.

In the advertisement, first dogs Champ and Major can be seen sitting before the fire place in the White House along with Jill Biden who is discussing the significance of using masks in the present times.

“For a lot of us during this pandemic, our pets have been such a source of joy and comfort. The unconditional love from a dog is one of the most beautiful things on earth — and we owe it to them to keep ourselves healthy,” says Dr Biden in the video.

Major’s
debut in a commercial for Puppy Bowl is seen as a great opportunity for raising
awareness regarding animal adoption in America, one of the main cause that  the animal game represents.

First dog Major was adopted from the Delaware Humane Association in 2018 by the President’s family and is the first rescue dog to live in the White House.
