With 2022 just around the corner,  movie buffs have already begun to anticipate some of the biggest Hollywood releases next year. From romantic comedies to disaster flicks, it seems 2022 has a lot of movies and popcorn in store for you.

Check out this list of the most anticipated films of 2022-

1. Scream- Releasing on January 14, this cult classic is back with a reboot of its iconic 1996 release, where the protagonist, Sidney Prescott will help out a group of teens who have interesting connections with the infamous Woodsboro murders.

2.  Legally Blonde- Elle Woods fans are in for a treat as the third instalment of this chick flick will hit theatres in 2022. While we’re sure that Reese Witherspoon will star as the lead, the cast still remains a mystery. Nonetheless, we certainly hope for Bruiser Woods in an adorable supporting role.

3.  Avatar 2- After the 2009 blockbuster hit sci-fi, James Cameron is ready to take us back to Pandora. The second film of this franchise is scheduled for release in late 2022, making it a gripping holiday season movie to watch.

4.  Jurassic World: Dominion– Jurassic Park has a whole separate fanbase, and so, horrifying dinosaurs return in this instalment. The iconic film stars Chris Pratt, Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern and Bryce Dallas Howard in lead roles. They  will save civilization yet again.

5.   Top Gun Maverick – 36 years after we saw a 23-year-old Tom Cruise as an air force pilot, he returns as a trainer with Top Gun: Maverick. The trailer alone will give you goosebumps, with high altitude flying, fighter jets, and Tom Cruise’s exceptionally good looks. 

After witnessing Tom Cruise in Top Gun, his fans will also be able to see him star in Mission Impossible 7, which makes 2022 truly the year of Tom Cruise.

The year will also have other big releases, including ‘The Batman’, starring Robert Pattinson, ‘Moonfall’, a sci-fi starring Halle Berry and Patrick Wilson, a Black Panther sequel, and ‘Marry Me’, starring Jennifer Lopez, which will hit theaters around Valentine’s Day.

The year 2022 will also see ‘The Lost City’, a rom-com adventure film starring Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, and another romantic comedy starring George Clooney and Julia Roberts.
