After being postponed for over two months due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 64th Grammy Awards is set to go all out on Sunday with a few potential moments that could go down in the history of the awards.
This year’s edition has several changes. From venues to new categories, the 64th annual ceremony has it all.
Here are 5 music artists who could potentially break records and create history.
Kanye West
American rapper Kanye West, who now goes by Ye, was pulled from performing at this year’s event. On the brighter side, the 44-year-old could make a mark in history if he manages to surpass Jay-Z’s 23 Grammy wins. West, who proudly owns 22 of the golden gramophones, has been nominated for five more, including album of the year for ‘Donda’.

BTS
Korean boy band BTS made history in last year’s ceremony by becoming the first Korean pop stars to win a Grammy nomination in the category of pop duo/group performance. This year, if they manage to win for their album ‘Butter’, the seven members might become the first K-pop act to win a Grammy in the event’s 64 years of existence.

In 2019, the band made history by becoming the first Korean artists to present a Grammy.
Olivia Rodrigo
‘Drivers License’ fame Olivia Rodrigo has bagged seven nominations for her debut album ‘Sour’, including best new artist and album of the year.
If Rodrigo sweeps in all those awards, she could become the second-youngest artist to win in four major categories.
Tony Bennett
Bennett, who first won an award for his album at the fifth annual Grammy Awards, has five nominations, 59 years down the line.
Bennett has received nominations for his collab with Lady Gaga. The duo is nominated for their cover of ‘I Get a Kick Out of You’.
Jon Batiste
Leading with 11 nominations this year, if Batiste manages to take home just nine of them, he could surpass Santana and Michael Jackson as artists who have bagged the most Grammys in a year.
