Fox News has gone viral on social media for all the wrong reasons after a video showing a Fox News reporter asking Naperville residents on their views on Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson went viral on Twitter. Twitter users were quick to troll the reporter, named Gianno Caldwell, questioning why the media platform was asking questions regarding Chicago to citizens in a city located about an hour away from there.

In the video shared by the reporter himself on Twitter, Caldwell was seen asking a person, who he claimed was a Chicago citizen, about the recent swearing in of Johnson. The interviewee could be seen expressing his displeasure on 47-year-old Johnson saying, “I think its a fluke…I have no confidence in him.”

A Twitter user shared the video saying, “Once again, here to remind everyone that Naperville is not part of chicago, and Naperville residents were not able to vote in the election for the chicago mayor. Slow clap for Fox’s ignorance. Maybe next time, ask some actual chicagoans what they think.”

A second Twitter user wrote, “The father of a homicide victim just happened to be in a Naperville diner at 5:56 am lmao this is f**king shameless” raising objections at the ethics of the reporter and Fox itself, while another Twitter user said, “I currently live in Naperville. 10 mins away from where this diner is located. This interview was completely staged! There ain’t too many of us out here and I know for a fact that this man didn’t wake up at 5 am to eat and stumbled upon an interview on Fox!,” questioning the legitimacy of the interview.

Fox faced further trolling on social media, with a Twitter user writing, “Fox News, you aren’t fooling anyone. You use a black reporter to interview black Chicagoans about the swearing in of the new mayor of Chicago in the predominantly white city of Naperville, which is about 45 minutes west of Chicago. Not a setup at all.”

Johnson, a union organizer and former teacher, was elected as Chicago’s mayor last month and swore in on Monday.
