Legendary interviewer Leslie Stahl was blasted after her 60 Minutes interview with the GOP rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene aired on Sunday.
The main complaint of the liberals was that Stahl did not seem to press MTG enough, especially after she fumbled on questions like explaining her previous comments she made about Democrats being “the party of pedophiles.”
“I would definitely say so,” replied MTG. She also went on to add without evidence, “They support grooming children. Democrats support – even Joe Biden the president himself – support children being sexualized and having transgender surgeries. Sexualizing children is what pedophiles do to children.”
Greene also did not waste time throwing some of the members of her party under the bus like former house speaker Paul Ryan, Senate Leader Mitch McConnell, Senator Lindsey Graham, and Senator Mitt Romney, blaming them for not backing former President Donald Trump.
Numerous political observers criticized Greene, including many liberals, for letting the GOP lawmaker off easy. “Stahl interviewed Greene as if she were just another someone unusual member of Congress with some out-there ideas,” The Atlantic writer Tom Nichols tweeted. “Showed MTG some of her worst stuff, and MTG just waved it away, and Stahl let it all slide.”

Activist and speaker Victor Shi called the interview “truly terrible.” “Don’t get me wrong: I respect Leslie Stahl. But that interview she just did with Marjorie Taylor Greene was truly terrible,” Shi tweeted. “Little to no pushback. She let MTG get away with lie after lie.”
Progressing author Molly Jong-Fast commented, “Elevating a mini trumper because that worked out so well last time.”
