Social media platform Twitter has clarified that it suspended a fake account thought to be associated with Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, ANI reported.

The news comes hours after the Iranian leader posted a photomontage with images resembling former US President Donald Trump playing golf, alongside a shadow of a warplane.

In the post, the top leader vowed revenge against the former US President, warning him that he would not ‘escape payback’ for the drone strike he ordered last year. The strike, which took place near the Baghdad airport in January 2020, killed Iranian chief General Qasem Soleimani and his Iraqi lieutenant.
