Just a few days after the US delisted the Huthi rebels in Yemen as a terror group, the armed insurgent carried out a drone strike in restricted territories, to which the US urged an immediate termination.

“There is no military solution to the war in Yemen. We again urge the Huthis to immediately stop these aggressive acts,” State Department spokesman Ned Price told reporters.

Ned Price, the spokesperson of the US State Department said, “There is no military solution to the war in Yemen. We again urge the Huthis to immediately stop these aggressive acts” and further demanded the Huthis to “demonstrate a true commitment to constructively engage in peace negotiations.”

Price indicated that the Biden administration would go ahead and lift the terrorist designation — a last-minute move by former US President Donald Trump, that human rights groups said might harm humanitarian work.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s “intent to revoke this designation has absolutely nothing to do with the reprehensible conduct of the Huthis,” Price said.

“We remain committed to improving support for our partner Saudi Arabia to defend itself against threats to its territory.”
