Austin Lyle, a 17-year-old student, has been named suspect in the East High School, Denver shooting on Wednesday. He, as per authorities, shot and injured two teachers before running away.

As per Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas, at 9:50 AM on Wednesday, a shooting was reported at the East High School in Denver. Officers found that two adult men were shot. One of them is stable while the other is in life-threatening condition.

Who is Austin Lyle?

Austin Lyle has been described as a 5’5 tall boy who weighs 150 pounds. He was wearing a green hoodie at the time of the shooting. He is 17 years old.

As per the Denver Police Department, Lyle is ‘believed to be associated with a 2005 Red Volvo XC90 with Colorado license BSCW10’. He was last seen wearing a hoodie with an astronaut on it.

According to 9News, Austin Lyle was possibly “pinged” near Conifer, which prompted some schools in that area to be placed on “secure status.”

Thomas said that the suspect was subject to a school safety plan that involved daily pat-downs. School authorities found a handgun during the search. Bullets were then fired in an office area in front of the school.

“We are looking for the suspect,” Mayor Michael Hancock said. “We will find that suspect, and we will hold that suspect accountable for his actions this morning in placing everyone in danger and certainly wounding the two staff members who were doing their job and trying to keep everyone safe at the time.”
