House Speaker Nancy Pelosi‘s husband, Paul Pelosi, was “violently assaulted” by an intruder who broke into their San Francisco home early Friday, according to her spokesperson, Drew Hammill, and is now in the hospital and expected to make a full recovery.

Pelosi wasn’t home at the time. According to Hammill, the attacker is in jail and the reason behind the attack is being looked into.

Who is Paul Pelosi?

Paul Francis Pelosi Sr. is an American businessman who owns and operates Financial Leasing Services, Inc., a real estate and venture capital investment and consulting organisation based in San Francisco. Pelosi was born and raised in San Francisco on April 15, 1940, the youngest of three sons. He is 82 years old.

John Pelosi, a wholesale druggist, was his father. He graduated from Malvern Preparatory School after attending St. Ignatius High School in Pennsylvania. At Georgetown University, where he received a bachelor of science in foreign service, he met Nancy D’Alesandro, whom he went on to marry.

Nancy was enrolled at Trinity College, a Roman Catholic women’s university in Washington, D.C. He received his MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business. Since 2009, he has served as the Georgetown Foreign Service Board’s chair.

Pelosi and his wife have an estimated $114 million in personal wealth through the venture capital company Financial Leasing Services, which they started and operate.

He had previously invested in the Oakland Invaders of the United States Football League and in 2009 paid $12 million for the California Redwoods of the United Football League. Later, the Redwoods relocated to Sacramento where they took on the name Sacramento Mountain Lions.

In the summer of 2021, Pelosi’s success in the stock market garnered attention, which prompted moves to rigorously regulate congressional members’ ownership of particular stocks.

On September 7, 1963, Pelosi wed Nancy Pelosi at Baltimore, Maryland’s Cathedral of Mary Our Queen. Christine and Alexandra are among their five children. In 2007, Nancy Pelosi was elected to serve as the 52nd Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.

After colliding with another person at a crossroads in Napa County in May 2022, Paul Pelosi was taken into custody for DUI.

In August 2022, Pelosi entered a guilty plea and was given a five-day jail term, a $6,800 fine and restitution, completion of a DUI programme, and three years of probation.

The incident brought up Pelosi’s 1957 vehicle accident, which occurred while he was still a minor. After the collision, which resulted in the death of his older brother, Pelosi was cleared of misdemeanour manslaughter.
