Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs and William Kinney were identified as the students who were fatally shot in the Covenant School, Nashville shooting on Monday. The suspect has been named as Audrey Hale.

Three students and as many staff members were killed in the school shooting. All the children were nine years old and the adults were in their 60s.

According to a CBS News report, the Nashville Presbytery confirmed that 9-year-old Scruggs was the daughter of Chad Scruggs, a senior pastor at Covenant Presbyterian Church.

According to the website of The Covenant School, Katherine Koonce was the head of the school. Her LinkedIn profile says she has led the school since July 2016.

All three adults worked at the school. Mike Hill was a custodian. Peak was identified by the officials as a substitute teacher.

Audrey Hale was armed with two assault-style weapons and a handgun, authorities said. At least two of them were believed to have been accessed legally in the Nashville area.

The attack at The Covenant School comes as communities around the country are reeling from a spate of school violence. People are comparing the attack to a massacre at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, last year when a first grader shot his teacher in Virginia; and a shooting last week in Denver that wounded two administrators.

Police said their initial investigation shows that the shooter was at one time a student at the school but it was not clear when they may have attended.
