Amazon Quiz: In the 3rd movie of the series, named after this character, Hugh Jackman will return to play which of these roles?
Wolverine
Cyclops
Reed Richards
Professor X
Answer: Wolverine
Wolverine and Deadpool are very different from one another in some aspects. One is a tough, no-nonsense X-Man with unbreakable claws who smokes cigars and lives by an honour code yet is willing to go against the grain when many of his comrades won’t. The other is a witty mercenary who frequently breaks the fourth wall and drives both allies and enemies insane with his quips, sharp swords, and powerful weapons.
It makes sense to assume that two individuals with such dissimilar personalities wouldn’t get along. Given their extensive shared past, it is safe to say that the relationship between the finest at what he does (Wolverine) and the Merc with a Mouth (Deadpool) is anything but simple. They have worked together, served as test subjects for Weapon X, caused each other grief, and are of course proud Canadians.
They’ve even interacted in media other than comic books, with Deadpool 3 being the most recent to attempt to define their distinctive relationship. Naturally, this raises the question, “What, exactly, is their dynamic?”
Marvel Cinematic Universe fans have had an exciting few weeks thanks to the recent D23 convention, which featured a number of announcements. But after the event, everyone’s favourite Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool, gave us the most thrilling news. Prior to the huge news that Hugh Jackman will be joining Ryan Reynolds in the new movie and reprising his role as the iconic titanium-clawed Wolverine, the gun-toting anti-hero first announced a release date for Deadpool 3.
