Lee Jung-jae, a South Korean actor, was the first Asian to win the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama series. Jung-jae received global renown after his performance in the Netflix drama Squid Game. 

Lee Jung-jae was born in South Korean capital Seoul on December 15, 1972. He graduated from the Department of Theater & Film Art of Dongguk University. His first foray into theatre was with a rendition of Hamlet in Water, where he played the titular role. 

Lee then forayed into fashion modelling and later television. His 1994 campus series Feelings brought him into attention. An Affair (1998) was Lee’s breakthrough performance. 

Lee Jung-jae is an entrepreneur aside from being a prominent actor. He owns a chain of restaurants in Seoul. He has also founded several companies, including Seorim C&D a development company. In many of his business endeavours, Lee is associated with fellow actor Jung Woo-Sung.
