Vicky Flind – wife of BBC News presenter Huw Edwards – has named him on his behalf as the BBC presenter facing allegations.

This came moments after the Metropolitan police closed their case. The police said no criminal offence charges were filed. Flind stated that Huw Edwards was suffering a serious mental health breakdown and was in hospital.

Social media has had mixed reactions to the revelation. Most have critiqued the BBC anchor for his actions and silence.

Some have also accused him of using a ‘mental health card’.

However, there have been multiple statements of support for Edwards and his family. Some have even questioned the media frenzy that followed around the story.

The Sun has no plans to publish further allegations about Huw Edwards and will co-operate with the BBC’s internal investigation process, a spokesperson for the newspaper said.
