Jonny Bairstow took over the center stage and continued his fluent form by scoring a 50 off 44 balls against Delhi Capitals in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

The Hyderabad innings started rather slowly with David Warner and Jonny Bairstow managing only 38 runs in the powerplay. However, after the first strategic timeout, the Sunrisers skipper decided to unleash and scored a arrow straight six to Ishant Sharma. Warner also showed a bit of his class reverse sweeping Amit Mishra, so perfectly that he looked like a full-time right hander.

With such a good touch, Warner went for another reverse sweep but this time his glove just brushed through the ball, sending the Aussie back.

However, Bairstow played much carefully, his best coming off Amit Mishra. The English wicketkeeper-batsman cut the leg-spinner off the square of the wicket finding the gap through a much crowded field.

Manish Pandey was the next to go off Amit Mishra and Jonny with newcomer Kane Williamson set the tone right. The two kept nudging the ball for singles, picking an odd ball for the boundary.

This was Jonny Bairstow’s fourth IPL fifty, not the best one but the one that could be the reason behind Sunrisers Hyderabad getting out of their five game losing streak. The Englishman had scored a half century in the first match but got out for cheap against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Kagiso Rabada dismissed Jonny Baristow for 53 off 48 balls, just when the opener decided to accelerate.
