Lanturn is a blue Pokémon with an anglerfish-like
appearance. It has tiny, light blue pectoral fins and large, red eyes with a
yellow mask-like pattern surrounding them. It features a bright tailfin with
jagged edges on the lower part. A Y-shaped antenna with a spherical orb at each
point is attached to its back; this antenna is a modification of its dorsal
fin.

Bacteria living within the orbs create light by consuming
Lanturn’s body fluids. It uses the glow to attract victims, then blinds them
with a powerful flash before swallowing them whole. From a depth of almost
three miles, the flare it produces may be seen on the surface (five
kilometers).

It has gained the moniker “Deep-Sea Star” as a
result of this. When catching its prey Starmie, Lanturn competes with Lumineon.
Lanturn’s natural predators are Frillish and Sharpedo. Lanturn lives in the
sea.
