The central figure of the Royal family and Netflix’s The Crown is Queen Elizabeth ll. While several members of the Royal family struggle with a sense of identity and feel restrained by their titles, the Queen seems to take it all in stride.

Before being crowned with the title of Queen on 6 February 1952, she held several other titles. Queen Elizabeth ll had the following titles %u2013 Princess Elizabeth, Princess Elizabeth of York, Princess Elizabeth, Duchess of Edinburgh.

Queen Elizabeth II was born as Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary to King George Vl. She is the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and Head of the Commonwealth. Also known as Lilibet, Queen Elizabeth ll %u2013 the elder child of the Duke %u2013  was raised with her sister Margaret.

In November 1947, Elizabeth married Prince Philip. He had to surrender his title as Prince of Greece and Denmark to marry Princess Elizabeth. Later, he was named Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and Lieutenant of the Royal Navy with whom she had four children namely %u2013 Charles (Prince of Wales), Anne (Princess Royal), Prince Andrew (Duke of York), and Prince Edward (Earl of Wessex).

Queen Elizabeth ll played by Olivia Colman in the first four seasons of The Crown will now be played by Imelda Staunton in season 5 and 6. Season 5 of The Crown will begin its production in July this year. The season is expected to wrap up by mid 2022.
