17-year-old girl was shot dead in Miami on Wednesday, police say. The shooting
was reported around midnight. Law enforcement officers at the scene said they
found a woman with a gunshot wound who was declared dead at the scene.
Relatives of the girl told local media outlets that the teen is related to
popular rap artist Trina. Two others were also shot and taken to the hospital,
but their current condition has not been revealed.

The girl,
who relatives say was named Sugar, is said to be rapper Trina’s niece. Trina is
yet to issue a statement.

Who is Trina?

Trina, 47,
has often been described as one of the most “consistent female rappers of all
time”. Trina’s real name is Katrina Laverne Taylor. Trina shot to fame in 1998
with her appearance on the ‘Trick Daddy’ single ‘Nann Nigga’. Born in Miami,
Florida, Trina set out to become a real estate agent early in life before
making a switch to music.

wrist while Lil has ‘Trina’ written on his ring finger. The couple were once
engaged to be married.
