The Los Angeles Fire Department has said that at least seven people were injured after gunfire erupted on Sunday afternoon at or near a car show in San Pedro’s Peck Park.

At least three of the victims suffered gunshot wounds, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. All seven victims were taken to nearby hospitals, including two who were in critical condition.

The injured included four men and three women.

Further details about their ages and the nature of their injuries has not been confirmed, the LAFD said in an alert on Sunday afternoon.

The shooting occurred around 3:50pm in the 500 block of N. Western Avenue, LAPD Officer Rosario Cervantes said.

The Los Angeles Police Department declared a citywide tactical alert because of the large number of officers sent to the scene.

The LAFD first responders and officers from the Los Angeles Police Department are at the scene. The incident took place at the 560 block of North Western Avenue.

Gunshots were reportedly heard near the vicinity of a car show taking place in the park, which is a popular recreational venue for people living there.  Earlier reports indicate there were more than one active shooter in the spot.

The secondary shooting site was north of Peck Park as per an independent journalist, Joshua Jared.

The LAPD has now confirmed that Peck Park no longer has an active shooter situation.
