Indian batsman and Delhi Capitals’ stand-in skipper Rishabh Pant on Sunday took it to social media to post a picture of him on a beach from the pre-covid time, or as he called it “before it became the new normal”. With cricketers having to spend most of their time in bio-bubbles due to COVID-19 restrictions, Pant wishes to see a “bubble-free life” soon.
Pant’s campaign as a Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper was off to a flying start as DC won their opening game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 against Chennai Super Kings by 7 wickets while chasing a challenging total of 189.

Pant also hopes that we could get past the challenge that the pandemic has brought. He wrote “Trying to maintain ‘Do Haat Ki Doori’ before it became the new normal”, referring to his spread out arms in the picture. “Seriously though, hope we can get past this challenge and go back to a bubble-free life soon!”
Pant was made the captain of DC after Shreyas Iyer was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury. Iyer sustained an injury during India vs England series that was concluded in March of this year. The injury occurred during a One-day International (ODI) match while Iyer was fielding, and took a blow to his left shoulder.
