Week-starter meetings, online classes and tests got postponed to other times and days as video-conferencing app Zoom faced an outage on Monday. Social media users flooded the Internet with complaints and memes.
According to Downdetector, a website that keeps track of outages on the internet, users in Australia, India, Pakistan and other parts of the world struggled to log into Zoom sessions, start conferences and join meetings which had already started.
Taking to Twitter, the video-conferencing app told users that it was investigating and fixing the glitches.
Releasing a statement, Zoom said, “We are aware of a subset of customers experiencing errors while joining a live meeting. We are currently investigating and will provide updates as we have them.
Apologies for any inconvenience.
Follow updates at: https://status.zoom.us”
After resolving the issue, they informed the users and wrote that they have resolved the issue that was causing a subset of customers to experience errors while joining.
Meanwhile, Twitteratis shared their reactions to the outage. Some people were happy to have missed the Monday meetings and classes, others were upset that they had to wait still longer to get their test results.

One of the users explained how he had lot of inconvenience and anxiety to join the meeting and how chaotic it was.

A user named @RediliciousMe wrote how Zoom also has Monday blues.
Earlier this month, photo-sharing app Instagram also faced an outage in the US and United Kingdom. Instagram users across the United States and the United kingdom were shown an error message while opening the application and some features also stopped working on the popular photo-sharing app.
“Try again later- we limit how often you can do certain things on Instagram to protect our community” is the message that is greeting many users throughout the world.
