Disney CEO Bob Iger has extended his contract until 2026, which is a longer tenure than he had anticipated when he returned to the firm, as per a press release from Disney.

Iger unexpectedly returned to Disney in late 2022 after holding the position of CEO from 2005 to 2020. He had initially planned to stay for two years after his return and find a prospective successor before retiring.

As Iger made it to the headlines, several people were interested in knowing more about the Disney CEO.

As per media reports, Bob Iger is assumed to have an estimated net worth of around $350 million. Iger was instrumental in ensuring Disney’s success while serving as its CEO by making smart acquisitions. Under his direction, Disney made key acquisitions including LucasFilm, Pixar, and Marvel, which helped the business grow and become more successful.

Salary-

As reported by Fortune, Bob Iger’s return to Walt Disney as CEO in 2022 was set to be compensated by a new two-year contract that would pay him an annual compensation of about $27 million.

He was also entitled to receive a base salary of $1 million along with a bonus similar to that amount.

Age-

He is 72 years old.

Family-

Bob Iger has had two marriages. He had two daughters with Kathleen Susan Iger during his first marriage, which ended in divorce. Iger married journalist Willow Bay in Bridgehampton, New York in 1995. They have two children named Robert Maxwell “Max” Iger and William Iger.

Career-

Bob Iger embarked on his media career in 1972 as the host of a television show called Campus Probe at Ithaca College. He joined the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) in 1974 and originally worked on television doing menial duties. Iger was hired as the senior program executive for the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary.

After being named head of ABC Entertainment a year later, he was instrumental in giving the go-ahead for hit programs including Cop Rock, America’s Funniest Home Videos, and Twin Peaks. The Walt Disney Company bought Capital Cities/ABC in 1995 and changed its name to ABC, Inc. Iger stayed on as ABC’s chairman until 1999.
