As of 2023, Robert ‘Bob’ Iger is still serving as CEO of The Walt Disney Company. Iger, 72, held the position of CEO from 2005 to 2020. The development of Disney into the multifaceted entertainment behemoth it is today is largely due to him.

Now, the Walt Disney Chief Executive has stated that selecting a replacement within two years is his highest priority. In response to this, an 18-year-old Disney enthusiast believes she would make a solid contender for the job. She has already discussed the position with Mr. Iger.

The young follower regularly attends shareholder meetings. Since she was 3 years old in 2008, she has been to each annual Disney shareholder meeting. On almost all the visits, she has addressed Iger, notably in 2015 when she inquired about his advice for “a kid who wants your job someday.”

Robert Iger responded, “Well, one thing you can do is keep coming to our shareholders’ meeting.”

Cori Borgstadt is aware of the qualities she seeks in the incoming CEO. “If you don’t love the company or care to know about it, then I feel like you’re kind of not going to be effective in your job,” she said in an interview at her home in Peoria. “You have to share that same interest, from your shareholders to your fans to the employees.”

Borgstadt attended the meeting for the 16th time in a row on Monday, a run that exceeds the length of time that almost all of Disney’s directors have served on the board of the corporation. In addition to giving her family an annual holiday, the shareholder events have given Cori the chance to indulge her passion for Disney and her participation in corporate governance.
