Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor turned back the clock by recreating a famous television commercial that she featured in back in the 1990s.

The 47-year-old took a trip down memory lane and appeared in a remake of a famous Nirma super detergent ad. The new commercial is shot for CRED, a credit card management platform.

Sharing the video of the commercial on Instagram, Kapoor quipped with the caption, “Maan gaye?”

The 30-seconds-long video begins with Kapoor stepping out of a car, sporting a traditional white saree. She then enters a shop and is greeted by the shopkeeper. She points towards an item on the shelf that reads ‘charger’.

Kapoor responds, “Leti thi (used to take)”, adding that she has changed her mind, thanks to Cred Bounty’s iPhone offer.

The commercial is a remake of an ad by Nirma from the 90s. It featured actor Dipika Chikhlia. Back in the days, the ad gained popularity for its punchline- ‘Maan gaye aapki paarkhi nazar (I am in awe of your sharp eye)’.

Kapoor has over 6.7 million followers on Instagram. She often shares snippets of her family, friends, shoots and trips on the platform.

CRED, known for its quirky commercials, has featured several public figures in the past. A commercial featuring Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra playing the roles of a cashier, marketing executive, filmmaker, and journalist, went viral on social media.
