Star Wars fans have long awaited the comeback of The Mandalorian, and we are happy to say that Season 3 is back with a bang on Disney Plus. The amazing thing about The Mandalorian season 3 is that it does a splendid job of reminding us how The Mandalorian as a show is an adventure in itself and has the power to grasp fans’ attention along the way. This review includes a lot of spoilers, so readers who want an element of surprise should consider them before they step into the lore of the Mandalore.

The first episode which is called The Apostate moves with a rather slow pace, perhaps in order to refrain from overwhelming reactions from fans and to create a balanced yet wholesome aura for the rest of the episodes that are about to release soon.

Here are five exciting and the biggest moments from the first episode of The Mandalorian season 3.

1) Daddy Din and Grogu save the day

The opening sequence starts with a triumphant scene in which The Armorer is seen beating sheets of metal in order to make yet another special helmet for a young Mandalorian’s initiation. This scene serves as a great reminder that a Mandalorian must never remove their helmets as they have taken an oath. The initiation is interrupted by a giant alligator who wreaks havoc and attacks the Mandalorians.

This scene in particular shows how top notch the CGI used actually is. The scene moves to the Mandalorians struggling to defeat the alligator but what we see next is truly delightful. Din Djarin (played by heartthrob Pedro Pascal) and his beloved Grogu save the day, defeating the giant alligator in their souped-up mean machine, The Naboo N-1 Starfighter.

2) Din Djarin asks for The Armorers forgiveness

Emily Swallow is back on screen to play her enigmatic yet mysterious character, The Armorer. The Armorer reminds Din Djarin about how he could be forgiven for removing his helmet and breaking his oath. Din Djarin is reminded that the only way he could be forgiven is by returning to The Mandalore’s mines and bathe in its “living waters”. Din and Grogu are then set on their way to get some help in order to explore the mines of Mandalore.

3) Baby yoda is still super cute and his relationship with Din is as wholesome as ever

Fans have been awaiting to see what they call the iconic “father son” duo back on screens ever since their tear-jerking separation in the previous season. Din Djarin and Grogu charmed fans with their wholesome connection and affectionate display of love and tender care. The episode pakcs a lot of comforting scenes where Din and Grogu are seen stoically sitting with each other. Grogu is also seen playing around with the anzellans and this scene has now gone viral.

These scenes prove that Grogu has indeed found an amazing father figure. Din Djarin is seen to be extra protective of Grogu in Season 3 and is seen to also give Grogu some much needed advice.

Din Djarin says to Grogu, “Being a Mandalorian is not just learning how to fight. You have to know how to navigate the galaxy, because you never know where you might be headed next”. This quote proves everyone’s point that Din Djarin is indeed an amazing father.

4) Din and Grogu visit the civilized Nevarro and IG-11 is still alive.

Din and Grogu return to Nevarro and their reunion with Carl Weathers’ Greef Karga or let us remind you that he is also known as ‘High Magistrate Karga’ serves as a subtle gesture to show how much time has passed since season 1 and also shows that Din and Grogu’s have been on a rather long journey.

The duo has clearly gone a long way since their first trip together and seeing Nevarro entirely revitalized and on its way to being a thriving, independent commerce hub serves as a reminder of their long-lasting effect on the galaxy.

Din Djarin makes a trip to Nevarro as he is adamant on fixing the IG-11 as he believes that he is the only droid that can help him explore the mines of Mandalore.

5) Bo Katan and The Mandalorian meet

Din Djarin’s situation ship with Bo-Katan Kryze (played by Katee Sackhoff) been on a rocky road since he rightfully took ownership of the Darksaber from Moff Gideon (played by Giancarlo Esposito), and their heated encounter in Kalevala keeps this intriguing plot rolling.

These two iconic characters clearly have very fundamental philosophical disagreements about what it really means to be a Mandalorian, and it’s seems like the inevitable fight between them for the Darksaber will eventually break out in the coming episodes.  Kryze, in her spine chilling voice questions Din and says “Your sect abandoned Mandalore well before the Purge. “Where were you at the time?”.

The evident power dynamic of rivalry between Kryze and Din is an ever-evolving element that is clearly forming up to become a very intriguing story and it will be very interesting to see how it continues to pan out and what situations their dynamic might bring as the season moves forward.  Katee Sackhoff proves to stun fans as usual with her perfect portrayal of Kryze and this is seen as she is quitely sitting with fuming yet silent range in the Mandalorian castle.
