Mary Elizabeth Winstead stepped into the role of Hera Syndulla in the latest addition to the Star Wars universe, “Ahsoka.”

In this new series, the 38-year-old actress collaborates with Rosario Dawson and Natasha Liu Bordizzo, collectively bringing to life a range of characters from “Star Wars: Rebels.”

Set in the aftermath of the Empire’s downfall, “Ahsoka” offers a storyline that picks up just as the former Jedi Knight, Ahsoka Tano, embarks on a mission to uncover an emerging threat that imperils a fragile galaxy.

Who is Mary Elizabeth Winstead?

Born on November 28, 1984, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Mary Elizabeth Winstead is the daughter of Betty Lou and James Ronald Winstead. She is the youngest among five siblings. Interestingly, her family tree has a notable connection—her grandfather, Ambler William Winstead, was a cousin of the renowned actress Ava Gardner.

Her career trajectory continued on an upward trajectory, highlighted by her appearances as John McClane’s daughter Lucy Gennero-McClane in “Live Free or Die Hard” (2007) and her portrayal of Ramona Flowers in “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” (2010).
