Let’s celebrate one thing before we go into Black Widow and that is -Natasha Romanoff finally gets a solo film. Since her introduction in “Iron Man 2,” fans across the world have been eagerly waiting for this for eleven years.

That being said, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow is the appropriate send-off for our favourite superhero. Marvel Studios has announced the release date of Black Widow in India. The movie debuted on Disney Plus Hotstar on September 3.

Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) has appeared in seven Marvel films so far, although she has never had a stand-alone production. So, here’s the thing. And, while this may be a spoiler, her character dies in “Avengers: Endgame” (2019), and it’s not simple to produce future instalments with a dead character. Oops, too late for the party?

Instead of advancing her story forward for her long-awaited and much-overdue stand-alone, the producers- opted to travel back to 2016, around the time of “Captain America: Civil War,” to see what she was up to.

The film’s opening sequence depicts Natasha’s childhood, revealing she had a sister figure, Yelena Bolava, and a parental family (Red Guardian and Melina Vostokoff) who separated the girls and placed them in the “Black Widow” programme. Decades later, Natasha is on the run after violating the Sokovia Accords in “Captain America: Civil War” and Yelena is still a killer for hire.

Nat and Yelena’s lives intersect when the former is on the run as a ‘criminal,’ while the latter discovers the truth behind the Red Room (where the Black Widows are trained). The ‘sisters’ join forces for a task, but a family reunion of spies and assassins would not go smoothly.

Their journey eventually leads to a plot in which they are pitted against a slew of assassins, including Taskmaster, who can mimic the actions of anybody he battles. Natasha must confront her past to bring down her old captors.

Black Widow offers everything, including edge-of-your-seat action moments, a touching sister dynamic, some excellent twists, and a significant opportunity for the MCU’s future. The film was created after the character’s terrible demise in “Avengers: Endgame,” which implies that certain individuals will find it underwhelming because they know what will happen in the future.

The character deserved to be able to move on from her past and maintain contact with her loved ones (just like all the male superheroes do). It’s unfortunate that it didn’t materialise because the Studios didn’t believe in a female-led franchise.

A large part of the film’s goal was to introduce other characters, such as Yelena, since we envision a lot of work done with this character in the future of the MCU. Who knows? Perhaps this will pave the way for other “Black Widow” flicks with various personalities and objectives in the future. Simply put, there wasn’t enough time in the movie spent with Natasha as the majority of the focus was on new characters.

The cast is fantastic, as expected. Scarlett Johanssen is wonderful as always in the legendary role. Florence Pugh as Yelena is fantastic in the sister/partner dynamic, and we can’t wait to see her in other MCU films/shows. David Harbour played the Russian version of Captain America, Red Guardian, and every scene with him was hilarious. Black Widow is a film that should be seen and discussed for reasons other than Scarlett Johansson’s lawsuit against Disney.
