Actor Shruti Haasan, who is the elder daughter of veteran actor-politician Kamal Haasan and Sarika, says that she was ‘glad’ that her parents parted ways.
She said that if two people aren’t getting along, then there is no reason for continuing the relationship.

“I was just excited for them (her parents) to live their own lives. I was glad they separated as I do not think two people who are not getting along, should get along for some reason. They continue to be wonderful parents. I am particularly close to my dad. My mum is doing well and is a part of our lives as well. It actually panned out for the best,” she told Zoom Digital.
Kamal Haasan and Sarika were married in 1988 and divorced in 2004. They also have a younger daughter, Akshara Haasan.
