Amitabh Bachchan on Saturday night recalled some old memories as fans and followers demanded an update on Don 3 from Farhan Akhtar. Big B found a photo of himself and Shah Rukh Khan signing a poster of the film Don while SRK looks at him.

After seeing a photo that seemed to be nothing more than a throwback shot on social media, fans began to join the dots and speculate that Amitabh Bachchan had dropped some hints regarding the forthcoming sequel to Don 2. Big B’s post just fueled the fire. “errr … continuing in the same vein .. DON” he captioned the post.

His message immediately attracted a lot of attention from admirers. Navya Naveli Nanda, his granddaughter, also liked his message. “Congratulations to you sir,” one of the fans wrote. “Two super legends in one frame, WOW,” said another.

However, Big B seems to have continued his throwback saga from earlier when Don turned 44, and there’s no indication that Don 3 is on the way.

Don, released 44 years ago, was one of Amitabh’s best-known flicks. The plot centres around an on-the-run wanted criminal who dies from injuries incurred during a police chase. However, fate meddles, and a man named Vijay, who appears to be the criminal’s lookalike, takes his place, hoping to find the truth about his terrible activities. Shah Rukh Khan starred in two remakes of ‘Don’ and ‘Don 2,’ after the 1978 film.

A previously speculated ‘Don: The Chase Ends’ has been much awaited.

A snapshot of Farhan Akhtar surfaced earlier this month, prompting internet fans to speculate that another SRK film is in the works. On Saturday, filmmaker Ritesh Sidhwani took to social media to post a photo from Farhan’s study area, where the actor is seen writing. Along with the photo, Farhan announced that he has began writing his next script. “100% focus even when he’s putting pen to paper (err.. fingers to keyboard) @faroutakhtar is back in writer mode after a long hiatus. Guess what he’s working on…” read the caption.

Needless to say, fans have been since left wondering, with no clear answers.
