Netflix has finally announced a release date for Janhvi Kapoor starrer ‘Gunjan Saxena- The Kargil Girl’ today. The film is set to premiere on the platform on August 12. The actor took to social media to share the news.
“Proud to bring to you the story of India’s first woman Air Force Officer to go to war. A journey that I hope will inspire you the way that it has inspired me,” she wrote on Instagram while sharing a series of video clips.
The plot of the film revolves around the titular character who became India’s first woman Air Force officer to join a combat. Gunjan Saxena participated in the Kargil War of 1999, which was fought between India and Pakistan. The Sharan Sharma directorial also features Angad Bedi, Viineet Kumar, Manav Vij and Ayesha Raza in pivotal roles.
Netflix has also announced release dates of 16 other films and television series. Konkona Sen Sharma and Bhumi Pednekar statter ‘Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare’ is one among them.
Pooja Bhatt starrer web series ‘Bombay Begums’ is also going to premiere on Netflix. The story which embarks journey of five women is set to release within next month.
Neena Gupta took to Instagram to announce the release of web series ‘Masaba Masaba’. The mother daughter duo, Neena and Masaba Gupta, will act out real life inspired moments from Masaba Gupta’s life.
Apart from these, films and web series like ‘A Suitable Boy’, ‘Bhaag Beanie Bhaag’ and ‘Mismatched’ are also going to come to Netflix over the months of July and August.
