Kavita Chawla is the first crorepati on Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati season 14. The 45-year-old was accompanied by her father and son in the show.

The Kolhapur-based homemaker has waited for 21 years to be on the show. During the episode, Chawla requested Big B to narrate a poem for her. Amitabh Bachchan recited the lines from his movie Kabhi Kabhi, “Kabhi Kabhi mere dil mein khayal aata hai”.

KBC host, Amitabh Bachchan then mentioned that he knows that Kavita is a good singer to which she replied, that she prefers singing only while cooking. She said, “I sing but with a twist. At times I get bored in the kitchen and so to entertain myself, I sing Bollywood songs with an English accent.”

Kavita Chawla then sang the song, “Gum hai kisi ke pyaar mein dil subah shaam”. The 45-year-old then sang the song with an accent. The song is originally sung by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar. It is from the 1972 Hindi movie Raampur Ka Lakshman. The lyrics of the song are written by Majrooh Sultanpuri and the music is composed by Rahul Dev Burman.

The episode also had some light and funny moments. The question asked for Rs 1,000 was a picture question that read, “While cooking, which of these would you generally use to flatten the dough to make rotis?” Chawla answered the question correctly by selecting belan as the option. She then mentioned that she used to beat her son with belan. Big B reverted by mentioning that even at the age of 79 he gets belan.
