Laal Singh Chaddha, starring Aamir Khan, was expected to be the biggest release of 2022. The advance booking for the film started on Friday.

As of Wednesday morning, T-1, Laal Singh Chaddha has sold about 30,000 tickets at the three national chains, PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis. Laal Singh Chaddha sold about 57,000 tickets on the first day across all of India.

Laal Singh Chaddha’s T-1 in the national multiplex chains is roughly 50% lower than Kartik Aaryan‘s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and on par with Varun Dhawan‘s Jug Jugg Jeeyo.

Jug Jugg Jeeyo sold 57,000 tickets in the national chains, compared to 1.05 lakh for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in the three chains combined on opening day. With this, the Kartik Aaryan movie is predicted to maintain its top spot on the national chains’ advance booking front in 2022.

On the final day, advance ticket sales for movies typically double,  it is anticipated that Laal Singh Chaddha will sell about 62,000 at the three national chains and about 1.10 lakh tickets all over India.

This translates to an advance that is only 5% higher than Jug Jugg Jeeyo and about 45% lower than the horror comedy starring Kartik Aaryan. Laal Singh Chaddha has made very little progress outside of the three national chains because, in some theatres, its rival, Raksha Bandhan, is outperforming it despite being a much smaller movie.

The advances are below average specifically poor for a holiday release, and everything depends on last-minute reservations.

In terms of advance bookings, Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha (LSC) has surpassed Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan, according to a report in the Indian Express. Large multiplex chains like PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis have already sold 95,000 LSC tickets and 50,000 Raksha Bandhan tickets. This indicates that while Akshay Kumar‘s movie has only made Rs 4.5 crore, Aamir Khan’s movie, which reportedly cost Rs 180 crore, has already made Rs 11.5 crore.
