The 64th Grammy Awards will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday. The who’s who of the music industry is expected to be present at the event, which is being hosted by Trevor Noah for the second year in a row. However, there are a few celebrities who have decided to skip the event.

Let’s take a look at those who won’t be attending this year’s Grammy Awards –

1. Ariana Grande – The pop star, in an Instagram post, confirmed that she will be giving the ceremony a miss this year despite having three nominations.

“Some positions memories to celebrate grammy day 🙂 reflecting on an incredible process with so many creatives that i love and respect so deeply. i love this album so. it’s an honor to be recognized today alongside so many brilliant musicians and human beings that i love. to have each other, to have the gifts that we have, to share and feel heard.. is not something to take for granted, we’ve already won. 🙂 have a beautiful time, i am celebrating all of you there today!” she wrote.

2. Miranda Lambert – The 38-year-old country music singer, who has been nominated in two categories, recently revealed that she will not be attending the event due to her prior commitments.

“I’m not getting to go again. I’m slammed this month, with the record coming out and everything. We were on a group text this morning,” she said, adding that Jon Randall and Jack Ingram will be in attendance “representing the home team.”

3. Miley Cyrus – The singer is down with COVID-19 and will be skipping the Grammys. She tested positive for the virus after her performances in Latin America in recent days.

“Traveling around the world, playin for a 100,000 people a night & meeting hundreds of fans a day the chances of getting Covid are pretty high. I have Covid now but it was definitely worth it,” she tweeted on Friday.

4. Tony Bennett– The 95-year-old singer, who has bagged six nominations for this year’s awards, will not be attending the event because of his health conditions. Singer Lala Gaga is expected to pay a tribute to him at the event with a medley.

5. Jason Aldean – Despite a nomination with Carrie Underwood, the country singer will not show up at the event.

“I’m not going just simply for the fact that there are so many categories on that show that a lot of them aren’t even aired on TV. They’ll kind of read them out before the show or whatever. And I could be wrong, but I don’t think they’re going to air that on TV, so I’m not going to go, but it was cool [to be nominated],” he said.
